3D printing works by converting a 3D digital design into thin cross sections tor layers. This information is then sent to the machine where it starts to deposit material layer by layer, thus creating a 3-Dimensional object. This process is called additive manufacturing.
Our preferred file format is STL, but the following file formats can also be accepted:
.3DS, .OBJ, .PLY, .PLY, .VRML.
Yes, we use Netfabb and Materialise Magics for checking and correcting faulty meshes. Sometimes it carries an extra charge, dependant on the number of errors in your mesh, and the time it takes to fix the model ready for printing.
If you want to minimise errors and cost please go to cloud.netfabb.com to do an online file repair.
You can pay by check, postal order, credit card or debit card or if you want to become a business customer we can open an account following your first pro-forma order all orders will be invoiced at 30 days.
On calculating the price of a model we take a lot of factors into account one of which is of course the quantity requested. If you want to increase the quantity ordered we re-calculate the price and in most cases this means lower prices.
This is dependent on if your model has started the manufacturing process. If we have started to produce the model or we have started repairing your mesh then you may incur a cancellation charge. If we have not processed your model then cancellation is possible.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel you model.
This is dependent on the size of your model, which technology you choose to print your model, how much post processing is involved and the build queue. Typically you can expect a model to be dispatched 4 to 5 working days from receipt of the order or clearance of payment. If your model is urgent then please let us know when we quote and we may be able to prioritise your model and it could take as little as 24 – 48 hours to ship.
